Regional Junior High Championship Nordic Ski Race
When: Saturday, February 2 at 10 am
Where: Forestview Middle School, Baxter
Who: 6th-9th graders who are not be on the Section team
Starting Format: Freestyle and Classic races will be interval starts of 4 skiers per 15 seconds with a double pole start across a field.
Distance: Approximately 4 km freestyle and 4 km classic races on the same course.
Sprints: Sprint relay races will include teams of 3 skiers skiing 1 km each.
Schedule:
- 9:00 Volunteer Meeting
- 9:30 Coaches Meeting
- 10:00 Girls Classic Ski
- 10:40 Boys Classic Ski
- 11:45 Fun event skiing
- 1:00 Girls Freestyle Race
- 1:40 Boys Freestyle Race
- 2:30 Freestyle Sprint Relay Races
- 3:30 Awards
Awards: Ribbons will be awarded to boys and girls by grade level, first through seventh place, in the Freestyle and Classic races. Edible prizes for sprint relay races.
